Team went 0-2; Pitched first game; Reached base in 5 out of the 6 at bats including 3 doubles
Game 1: L 13-16 in 1-Pitch Extras
3-4 (Onbase); 2 Doubles, 1 Single, Out on fouls
- First at bat was a double that found a gap in the outfield. Opponents were playing with 8 players initially.
- Second at bat was out on fouls.
- Third at bat was a grounder that somehow made it past 1st base. Because the sun was in his eyes, the Right Fielder did not know where the ball was hit. This allowed me and the runner already on base to advance. In the immediate aftermatch, I realized that I should have been at third but I had already stopped not expecting the runner in front of me to make the run towards home.
- I got on base after the fourth at bat due to a technicality. The 1st baseman was on the wrong bag when the play was made at first. The umpire declared me safe at 1st because of that.
I pitched during regulation. I allowed 9 runs. I had 3 walks but the costly part was that two of the walks were against guys meaning that I put 5 runners on base total due to walks. A little bit of a struggle early as we allowed 5 runs in the first inning but bounced back by going three-up/three-down over the next two innings. I also recorded 2 strikeouts, caught 1 flyball, and fielded 1 ground ball. I played in Right Center during the 1-Pitch extra inning.
Game 2: L 3-13
2-2; Fielder's choice Single, Double. Double was by far the best hit for me in the tournament. Well hit line drive over the Right Fielder's head.
Defensively, I played in Right Center Field. Nothing catchable came my way. One hit made it between me and Left Center Field. Everything else was in front of me.
